PRESCRIPTION HOME WHITENING
Lighten your teeth by up to four shades with one of the prescription home-whitening kits available at Ringley Park. Impressions of your teeth are taken so that whitening trays can be custom-made at our dental laboratory. When the trays are ready, we’ll give you your prescription whitening gel to use at home, either for a set period during the day or overnight; we will advise you on the best option for your needs. You will need to use your trays for about three weeks. Should further whitening be needed, additional packs can be bought from the practice, and you can use your trays for future top-up treatments too.

ADVANCED WHITENING WITH ENLIGHTEN EVOLUTION
Here at Ringley Park, we’re proud to offer Enlighten teeth whitening in Surrey. Why? Because the Enlighten Evolution treatment is the only teeth whitening system that guarantees the ‘B1’ shade – the whitest you can go. So if you’re looking for truly transformative teeth whitening, ask about Enlighten at Ringley Park. If you decide to go ahead with Enlighten whitening in Reigate, we will need you to attend three visits to the practice.
First visit
We’ll take your dental impressions, which the Enlighten lab will use to create bespoke whitening trays. Thicker and more durable than conventional whitening trays, they fully seal the teeth so that the bleaching gel is accurately targeted in the right place. While you are waiting for your trays, you will be given Enlighten’s desensitising Tooth Serum to use at home. This helps improve the whitening, protects your teeth and minimises sensitivity.
Second visit
Your trays will be fitted and you will be treated with Enlighten Hurriseal, a product designed to desensitise your teeth further. Now you’re ready to use your trays at home. Wear them overnight, using Enlighten Tooth Serum beforehand, for the next two weeks.
Third visit
After two weeks, you’ll return to Ringley Park for a progress check. Your dentist may recommend a further week of using your trays. If your teeth have reached the desired shade, we’ll carry out a final 45-minute treatment in the chair. With no rubber dams or other barriers, this is a completely comfortable experience.
When your Enlighten treatment is complete, you’ll be given a tube of Enlighten’s Evo-White toothpaste to use at home to maintain the results. In 95% of cases, we can achieve a B1 shade (for those who don’t achieve B1, they can expect their teeth to be eight shades whiter). To maintain results, Enlighten recommends you wear your trays for one night every two months, and you can purchase your top-up bleaching gel from Ringley Park in Surrey.

Will whitening hurt my teeth or gums?
As with any treatment, there are benefits and risks, and your Ringley Park dentist will explain these clearly during your teeth whitening consultation. Recent research indicates that the use of whitening gel close to the soft tissues of the mouth (gingivae, cheek, tongue and throat) is safe.
Why go to the dentist for teeth whitening?
Prescription whitening can only legally be carried out by a GDC-registered dental professional, who will ensure you are dentally and medically fit for whitening before treatment begins. Unlike over-the-counter or online products, professional whitening means the dentist can prescribe the highest-strength bleaching agent for you, yet adjust it if it causes any problems. This means you’ll get the best possible results with the least discomfort.
What results can I expect from teeth whitening at Ringley Park?
This depends on what shade your teeth are to begin with. We recommend having a thorough professional cleaning before starting your teeth whitening in Reigate, in order to get the best results. If you follow the dentist’s instructions, you will see visibly whiter teeth.
Will my crowns be whitened too?
No; whitening gel is not effective on artificial surfaces such as ceramic crowns or porcelain veneers. Only natural teeth will be whitened. For this reason we recommend our Surrey patients undergo teeth whitening before having a restoration, so crowns or veneers can be colour-matched to your newly whitened teeth.
How long does teeth whitening last?
The whitening won’t “fade”, but your teeth will eventually become stained again, just as they did before being whitened. You can minimise this by stopping smoking and avoiding food and drinks that stain, such as tea, coffee and red wine. Regular visits to the dental hygienist will also help prolong your bright smile. You can also use your bespoke whitening trays for top-up treatments at Ringley Park.
